PURPOSE:To effectively avoid the use of an expensive high speed/large capacity video RAM and waste of a recording medium by providing a liquid crystal display section having a memory function displaying a demodulated facsimile pattern and confirming the broadcast content ahead the hard copy. CONSTITUTION:A facsimile signal sent from a center station via a broadcast line and appearing at an input terminal 1 is demodulated by a demodulation section 1 and fed to an X shift register 2a and a synchronizing control circuit 2c respectively. A liquid crystal panel 2d is made by using a liquid crystal agent such as a super-twist nematic material having the memory function and the display pattern is held for a prescribed period. Thus, since the facsimile pattern demodulated is confirmed by a liquid crystal display section having a memory function, the use of expensive high speed/large capacity video RAM is not required and the unnecessary hard copy is not required to be formed.
