PURPOSE:To increase the working speed of a memory card by using a static type RAM IC to a memory area for error correction codes and a dynamic type RAM IC to a data memory area of a memory array part respectively. CONSTITUTION:A dynamic RAM IC is used to a data bit group memory area 11-1 forming a memory array part 11; while a static RAM IC having a high working speed is used to an error correction code memory area 11-2 respectively. Thus a timing drive part 17 uses the timing signals of the systems different partly from each other between both areas 11-1 and 11-2. In other words, the write timing WET signal for the area 11-1 is produced before reception of the error correction code information 14. While the WET signal for the area 11-2 is applied after the information 14 is fixed. Thus the writing speed of the information 14 can be set equivalent to that of the data bit information owing to a fact that the area 11-2 uses the RAM IC having a high working speed. Thus it is possible to avoid the loss of the writing cycle time.
