<p>PURPOSE:To confirm the result of recognition of a character without shifting the line of sight by displaying the pattern of the recognized character to a character position based on information of the character position of a character being manually written and inputted. CONSTITUTION:A position input device 1 inputs stroke information to a position data buffer 21, and it is outputted to a character recognition part 22, a character position calculation part 23 and a stroke display part 24. The recognition part 22 analyzes the inputted stroke information with the aid of the recognition dictionary of an external storage device 3, recognizes it and outputs the result to a character code buffer 25. The calculation part 23 calculates the position of the written character, outputs it as character position information of the written character, outputs it as character position information to the buffer 25, adds the information to the character code of the recognized character and stores the code. A display and edition part 26 analyzes the character code and produces character string data to be displayed on a display device 4 in accordance with rules. Meanwhile, a stroke display part 24 displays the inputted position data on the display device 4 by dots. Hence, while one character is manually written, its stroke information is displayed, thereby movement a of the line of sight is not required.</p> |
