PURPOSE:To enable high torque transmission with low noise by forming a belt main portion having a core wire and a tooth form and an opaque film layer on the lower surface thereof by separately hardening liquid polyurethanes, and forming a tooth surface on the lower side by a laminated elastic canvas layer. CONSTITUTION:A liquid polyurethane is hardened to form a belt main portion 3 having a core wire 2 and a tooth form portion 3a, another liquid polyurethane is hardened to form an opaque film layer 4 on the lower surface of the belt main portion, and further a tooth surface is formed on the lower side of the film layer by a laminated elastic canvas layer 5. This is manufactured by laminating a polyethylene sheet on one surface of the elastic canvas, removing same after a liquid polyurethane applied to the opposite surface is hardened, mounting the canvas in an inner metal mold, spirally winding the core wire 2 round it, assembling an outer metal mold, pouring a liquid polyurethane to draw the pressurized canvas, and forming a tooth. Thus high torque can be transmitted with low noise, and a toothed belt can be manufactured with good productivity.
