PURPOSE:To improve the output efficiency of picture data by transferring the picture data every print unit to a 2nd memory of small capacity from a 1st memory of large capacity in response to the printing speed of a printer and outputting the picture data to the printer from the 2nd memory. CONSTITUTION:The picture data equivalent to single page is evolved into a disk file 7. A time 5 of a control part 1 counts the time and performs the DMA transfer control in response to the printing speed of a printer 10. The picture data 13 equivalent to a single line, i.e., a part of the data 12 is transferred by DMA to buffers 8 and 9 from a DMAC 4. The picture data equivalent to a single line are read out of the file 7 and sent to the memory 8. Then the next line data is sent to the memory 9. At the same time, a control part 2 reads data out of the memory 8 and outputs it to the printer 10. Then the next line data is sent to the memory 8 and at the same time the data is read out of the memory 3 and outputted to the printer 10. Thus the output efficiency of the picture data is improved.
