PURPOSE:To attain level conversion freely from each subscriber depending on an existing telephone set by providing a level converter to the side sending a digital voice signal to a subscriber of a channel of a time division exchange. CONSTITUTION:When a caller A and a called party B make a call, a central processing unit 6 commands the absence of level conversion to a level converter 8 to connect them. When the subscriber A or B desires to change the received voice level, a dial is turned after hooking to command the level change. The central processing unit 6 commands the level change of the said subscriber to the level converter 8 via a signal distributer 7 and a signal line 9. The voice signal subject to level conversion by a level converter 8 is sent to the subscriber via a demultiplexer 4.
