PURPOSE:To remove moires by setting the relative phase of a 2nd side band to 180 deg.. CONSTITUTION:When the band width of a luminance signal is set to 10MHz and the carrier frequency is set to 18MHz, the substantial side band is formed on bands of 8MHz and 28MHz and the upper frequency of the 2nd side band is formed to 38MHz and the lower 2nd side band formed to -2MHz is turned back and formed on the band of 2MHz. A delay equalizer 3 rotates the phase of the 2nd side band relatively by 180 deg.. When the phase is rotated, the opposite phase of the 2nd side band is attained and equivalent to the side band of an AM signal. When the signal is recorded and reproduced by a magnetic tape 6 and the component of the 2nd side band subjected to AM signal processing is suppressed.
