<p>1288711 Selective punching apparatus SIEMENS AG 19 Jan 1971 [30 Jan 1970] 2677/71 Heading B4B A code perforator comprises punches coupled to respective actuating cams 2 through individual coupling elements 4 each of which is pivotally mounted on a rotatably-mounted lever 5 which is held by an electromagnet 9 when a perforating operation is not required, the lever being provided with a claw 12 for engagement with the punch in order to return the latter to an inoperative position. In operation, when a punch is selected for punching a hole in a code carrier, the respective holding electromagnet is de-energized thereby allowing the lever to move into the position shown wherein the coupling element or interposer 4 is brought into alignment with its associated punch, rotation of the cam then actuating the punch via the interposer. Continued rotation of the cam causes the claw 12 to return the punch to an inoperative position wherein it rests on a stop 13. The cam face is lubricated by means of an oiled felt pad 14.</p> |
