PURPOSE:To simplify the describing structure of a sentence production rule and to facilitate the maintenance of a sentence production processing system, by turning the sentence production rule into a module and at the same time calling an optional module out of another optional module. CONSTITUTION:A rule analysis routine 2 called out of a main routine after designation of an arc extracts the meaning symbol A of the tip node of the designated arc and uses the symbol A to retrieve a word dictionary 3 for production of a word list 4. Then the word having the maximum using frequency is selected out of the list 4 and the module of a sentence production rule 5 to be executed is decided from the relevant sentence production rule name. The slot of the module is read out and the entry arc processing is carried out when the slot reading contents are related to the entry arc. Otherwise the in-arc/out-arc processing or the node processing, if designated, are carried out respectively. In the in-arc/out-arc processing mode, the relevant arc name is designated for recurrent call of the routine 2. In such a way, the nodes in a meaning network are successively interpreted in the order of connections. Then the words are integrated and arranged for production of sentences.
