<p>In the electricity generator, the metals used are initially converted to vapour which is then expanded and liquefied in such a way as to form a liquid metal jet which is braked electromagnetically to produce an e.m.f. and current in accordance with the principle of the dynamo or magneto hydrodynamics (MHD). Specif. the metal vapour is expanded adiabatically so that it becomes saturated.</p> |
