PURPOSE:To easily produce a pulley which has a crown shape on the surface in contact with a belt by forming half cut molds for the pulley by compacting of metal powder at the time of producing the pulley having the outside surface formed to the crown shape. CONSTITUTION:The metal powder which is a raw material is packed up to the horizontal plane 11 in a lower metallic mold 9 the inside wall surface 4a of which has the outside surface shape of the crown-shaped pulley 1. The pow der is then pressurized and molded by an upper metallic mold 10, by which the half cut molds 2, 3 of the pulley 1 having the crown shape 4 are produced. A fitting hole 8 for a connecting body 5 for connecting the molds 2, 3 and a through-hole 7 for insertion of a shaft are simultaneously formed to the central parts of the molds 2, 3. Two pieces of such molds 2, 3 are securely connected to the connecting body 5 having the shaft fitting hole 7a, by which the pulley 1 having the crown-shaped 4 surface is easily produced.
