<p>Suspensions of natural or synthetic fibres in water is promoted by using, as assistants, higher mol. wt. cpds. with segment structure contg. 75-99 wt.% hydrophilic polyglycolether segments and 25-1 wt.% hydrophobic segments. Fibre suspensions can be worked up to fleeces (random webs) on a paper machine and longer fibres, e.g. 28mm/3.3. dtex may be used without fibre-adhesion to bundles, Small amts. of an alkali or NH4 salt of a polyfunctional acid are pref. added to water used in paper machine, to allow use of more highly conc. fibre suspensions.</p> |
