PURPOSE:To decide whether a measurement is allowed or not by setting an allowable range and comparing and deciding a peak value of an echo receiving signal and the allowable range at a scan starting time point. CONSTITUTION:Before starting a measurement of a body to be inspected, a peak value appearance position of a receiving signal of a surface echo reflected from a measuring surface is measured in advance under a reference measuring condition. Subsequently, in the direction of a beam path and the gain direction centering around this peak value, a prescribed range in which a shift of an appearance position of a peak value corresponding to a kind of the body to be inspected is allowed is set. That which is set in such a way is stored in advance, and when the body to be inspected is measured at a scan starting time of each body to be inspected, whether the appearance position of the peak value of each echo in each measuring point is within a set allowable range or not is compared and decided. When it is within the allowable range, the measurement can be started. |
