<p>A cable bolt for ground control which is made from individual twisted wires which may be obtained from destranding a wire strand, the cable bolt being made by twisting the wires in a direction opposite to their normal twist, the cable bolt so formed having alternate areas of enlarged diameter where the wires are spaced from one and other and areas where the wires lie closely adjacent. A method of manufacturing such a cable bolt by twisting a number of wires into a strand having a twist, at least along part of its length, opposite to the original twist of the wires and which has alternate areas of enlarged diameter where the wires are spaced one from the other and areas where the wires lie closely adjacent. Also there is provided an apparatus to form such a cable bolt which includes means to receive individual ones of said wires and means whereby these can be twisted to perform the cable bolt.</p> |
