PURPOSE:To obtain a highly fibrillating pulp particle having excellent heat resistance and mechanical properties and useful for insulating paper, friction material, etc., by blasting out a water-containing molded material composed of para type aramid as a main component and forming said molded material into fibrillating fiber-like product. CONSTITUTION:A molded material containing para type aramid [preferably having >=4.5 logarithmic viscosity (based on 0.5g polymer dissolved in 100ml sulfuric acid) at 30 deg.C] as a main component and having >=5wt% (preferably 8wt%) water content is blasted out and said material is formed into fibrillating fiber-like product to provide the aimed pulp particle.
