<p>Trihaloethylbenzene derivs - having insecticidal activity superior to DDT. Insecticidal compsn. contain as active ingredient a cpd. of the formula: where X is Br, Cl or F, R is Me, Et, Pr, i-Pr, Bu, t-Bu or 1-ethylpropyl. Prefd. is the known cpd. in which X = Cl, R = Me. The rest are novel. Rapid, long-lasting effect and low toxicity to warm-blooded animals. The prefd. cpd. has a better effect than DDT and poses less of a residual toxicity problem.</p> |
