PURPOSE:To extend the lift distance of a paper supply carrier plate by guiding a chain with a guide while driving it with a sprocket to vertically move said carrier plate by the chain. CONSTITUTION:When the height of the uppermost blank is lowered by the sequential supply of blank, a drive source 7 is driven to rotate a drive sprocket 4 through a gear means 6 so that an end of a chain 9 ascends along chain guides 10, 10' to operatively push up a projecting driven member 2 of a paper supply carrier plate 1. On the other hand, the other end of chain 9 is lifted up through a sprocket 8 for the guide so that the other end of paper supply carrier plate 1 is lifted up through a connecting member 3 together with said one end. Then, since the lift of one end of the chain 9 is equal to that of the other end, the paper supply carrier plate 1 is lifted up smoothly a predetermined lift on the basis of the detecting signal. Thereafter, said plate 1 is lifted sequentially according to the paper supply amount to reach the final ascending position and stop there.
