PURPOSE:To eliminate a loss caused by a temperature change, by surrounding a sensor part by a heat insulating material, and also, containing it in an enclosed chamber of a helium gas atmosphere. CONSTITUTION:An optical fiber coil 2 is surrounded by a heat insulating material 9, and the coil surrounded by the heat insulating material 9 is contained in an enclosed state in a chamber 10 of a helium gas atmosphere. As for a material for forming the heat insulating material 9, that which has a heat resistance, and also, has a moderate elasticity for protecting the coil 2 from an external force, such as a carbon fiber, etc., is selected. Also, the chamber 10 is a closed type box-shaped container for containing at least the coil 2, among each parts of an optical fiber gyro 1, and as for a material for forming this chamber 10, a metal which is light in weight, and also, excellent in its mechanical strength, such as an aluminum alloy, etc., is selected. |
