PURPOSE:To obtain the voluminous fabric with spun-like feel by weight reduction treatment, using a solvent, a knitted fabric comprising specific conjugate- type filament yarns consisting of two kinds of polymers differing in solvent solubility from each other. CONSTITUTION:Two kinds of fiber-forming polymers having mutual affinity and differing in solvent solubility from each other by a factor of at least 10 are separately melted and then spun in a conjugate form through a static kneading device having 1-4 element(s) into conjugate filament yarns. Then, the resultant yarns are knitted into a knitted fabric, which is in turn put to dissolving treatment with a solvent to effect weight reduction by >=10wt.%, thus giving the objective nett silk-toned fabric. The above two kinds of synthetic polymers are e.g. (A) a regular polyester and (B) a copolyester with sulfoisophthalic acid as acid component. |
