PURPOSE:To make the deviation of a scanning line unremarkable even if the detected error in a horizontal synchronizing signal is larger than 2 clocks by providing a changeover circuit switching a signal of the scanning line into a signal data read from a line memory for dropout compensation when it is discriminated that the detection of the horizontal synchronizing signal is failed. CONSTITUTION:The dropout compensation circuit 12 and a discrimination circuit 8 discriminating whether or not the horizontal synchronizing signal of a reproducing signal is detected or separated in a preset prescribed period fluctuation range are provided and when it is discriminated that the detection of the horizontal synchronizing signal is failed, the switching circuit 5 switching the scanning line signal is switched into the signal data read from the line memory 3 of the dropout compensation circuit 12 is used. Thus, even when the detection error of the horizontal synchronizing signal is larger than 2-clock, the deviation of scanning line is made unremarkable on a screen.
