PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for a melting installation and also to reduce the dispersion of alloy components, by subjecting a composite aggregate of an Nb rod or sheet and a Ti rod sheet to reduction of area and then to diffusion heat treatment in a solid-phase region. CONSTITUTION:Plural pieces of Nb rod or Nb sheet and Ti rod or Ti sheet are gathered so as to regulate the ratio between Nb and Ti to the desired value. This composited aggregate is subjected to reduction of area and then to diffusion heat treatment of Nb and Ti in a solid-phase region. In this way, an Nb-Ti alloy of the desired composition can be manufactured.
