PURPOSE:To eliminate the necessity for a numerical control program for measuring the displacement amount of the center, by storing in memory the mounting center of a discharge electrode and positioning its center by manual operation so that a distance between the two points is automatically calculated as the center displacement amount. CONSTITUTION:A reference electrode 8 is mounted being positioned for the center of a pillar between the electrode and a reference measuring piece 9, and a mounting position of a discharge electrode is obtained and stored in a memory 5. Next the electrode 10 is mounted being replaced with the reference electrode 8 and moved manually by a manually operating input device 4 till the reference measuring piece 9 agrees with the center of the discharge electrode 10, and a completion instruction of position alignment is input by using a keyboard 3. A central arithmetic processing part 1, if it receives the instruction from the keyboard 3, calculates a difference between a position of the mounting center of the discharge electrode, stored in the memory 5, and a position of the center of the discharge electrode, serving as the present position, to be stored in the memory 5 as the center displacement amount.
