PURPOSE:To efficiently remove the liquid particles in a gas by sending the gas to be treated to the inside and the outside of a distributor to reversingly flow upward and downward and then flowing the gas into a demister. CONSTITUTION:A separation tank 1 is provided with a liquid discharge opening 3a in the center of a bottom wall 3 and a gas introducing cylinder 4a in a side wall, and a gas to the treated is flowed in an influence cylinder 5a from the be introducing cylinder 4a. The distributor 5 consists of an inner cylinder 6 which is horizontally installed and is provided with a number of effluent openings 6a in the upper part and a drain opening 6b in the lower surface, and an outer cylinder 7 which is installed coaxially with the inner cylinder 6 and is provided with a number of inducting-out openings 7a. Above the distributor 5, a demister 10 is provided across the separation tank 1. Consequently, the gas to be treated is reversely flowed up and down in the distributor 5 and the liquid particles in the gas have more chances of colliding with each other, and the liquid is effectively removed.
