PURPOSE:To facilitate the erasure of picture information by inputting an erasure data together with retrieval information in registering picture information and erasing picture information automatically after the erasure date elapses. CONSTITUTION:A system control circuit 9 reads the present data from a clock circuit 10, reads out the retrieval information stored in a magnetic disk 8 to fetch the erasure data attached thereto. Then the present date and the erasure date are compared and when the present date is passed, the control circuit 9 adds an erasure flag to the retrieval information added with the erasure data. Thus, one of the picture information is erased. The operation above is applied to all of the retrieval information stored on a disk 8.
