PURPOSE:To increase coloring sensitivity and to lessen the reduction of coloring density even when color-undeveloped paper is preserved in a dry state, by providing a heat- sensitive recording layer containing a specific compound as a sensitizer. CONSTITUTION:A compound expressed by the general formula is contained as a sensitizer in a heat-sensitive color developing recording layer having a chromogen and a developer as main constituents. As for the compound, esters such as 4-nitrobenzyl benzoate and 4-nitropalmitylbenzyl benzoate can be cited, for instance. The compound is used generally by 0.1-10 weight part to 1 weight part of the chromogen. It may also be used jointly with another sensitizer as occasion calls for. The chromogen, the developer and the compound of the general formula (I) are dispersed respectively in a water solution of a water-soluble binder to be particulates, and suspensions thus prepared are mixed to be a coating liquid. Otherwise the compound is mixed beforehand with the chromogen or the developer and then made into a suspension, and this suspension is mixed with the other suspension of the developer or the chromogen to be the coating liquid. The coating liquid thus prepared is applied on paper and dried, and thus heat-sensitive recording paper is manufactured. |
