REBOOTING SYSTEM FOR COMPUTER SYSTEM

PURPOSE:To shorten time required for rebooting by forming an additional main storage independently of a program executing main storage, loading a system program to the additional main storage at the idle time of system operation, and at the time of rebooting, switching the executing main storage to the additional main storage. CONSTITUTION:The main storage is divided into plural main storages 4-1-4-n and a space where a program is being executed at present is stored in a mapping register 3. The main storage consists of a RAM and a ROM. A disk controller 10 loads an initial program form a disk 11 to a space (additional main storage) indicated by a selector 2 based on an instruction from a CPU 1.
