PURPOSE:To omit foot operation and to improve workability by allowing a control device built in a mouth piece to control an electric sewing machine. CONSTITUTION:The mouth piece is made of elastic synthetic resin and recessed portions 11, 11 are respectively formed on the upper and lower faces of the mouth piece 10 on the side of a supporting plate 5 and a control plate 7. When the recessed portions 11, 11 are bitten by operator's teeth 12, the control plate 7 is displaced relatively to the supporting plate 5 while resisting the energizing force of a spring 8. Consequently, a controlled variable corresponding to the compression extent of the spring 8 is converted into a current signal or the like and the signal is outputted from a control part 4 to the electric machine as a control signal through a cable 2.
