PURPOSE:To obtain an anti-suntan cosmetic having moderate masking power, giving natural finishing and exhibiting sufficient ultraviolet scattering effect, by compounding resin powder coated with zinc oxide or zinc oxide and other inorganic powder. CONSTITUTION:An anti-suntan cosmetic having excellent effect to protect the skin from harmful ultraviolet radiation and good applicability, giving excellently finished skin and having astringent effect as well as anti-inflammatory effect of zinc oxide can be produced by compounding resin powder coated its surface with zinc oxide or zinc oxide and one or more other inorganic powder such as talc, mica, titanium oxide, kaolin, chromium oxide, etc. The amount of the compounded resin powder is 0.1-60wt%, preferably 0.5-20wt% based on the whole anti-suntan cosmetic. The average particle diameter of zinc oxide and other inorganic powder is about 0.1-1mu each, especially 0.01-0.1mu each and is preferably 1/1,000-1/5 of the average particle diameter of the resin powder.
