PURPOSE:To facilitate measuring operation, by making scale reading of a gauge adaptable to the changeover of a range and the setting and changeover of an offset immediately. CONSTITUTION:A gauge scale reading data is stored into a memory 20 as determined by a range and an offset used. A gauge scale reading data memory address selection means 30 receives a range detection signal and an offset detection signal to select a head address where a gauge scale reading data of the memory 20 is stored and selects the subsequent address where other gauge scale reading data is stored based on the head address and the set number of gauge scale reading data. A gauge scale reading data reading means 32 reads gauge scale reading data stored in these addresses from the memory 20 and a gauge display 16 shows the gauge scale reading data to match corresponding gauge graduations respectively.
