PURPOSE:To suppress an increase of the memory capacity and also to simplify an address control for reading out an image data from a frame memory by dividing color image information into plural signal components and writing them repeatedly at a prescribed interval at the time of storing them in a memory. CONSTITUTION:A signal which is converted to a luminance signal Y and color difference signals R-Y and B-Y is supplied to an RGB matrix circuit 11 through switching circuits 3-5, then an RGB signal is generated and it is led into a switching circuit 15 through LPFs 12-14. Each color signal which is brought to a time division by the switching circuit 15 is converted to a digital signal by an A/D converter 17 and is written in a frame memory 18. As for a write state to the frame memory, in a first line, four picture elements of GRGB are written as a repeated unit, and in a second line, four picture elements of RGBG are written as a repeated unit. Also, picture element information of G becomes two times, comparing with picture element information of R and B, and also placed in a checkered pattern so that write position is shifted at every line.
