<p>PURPOSE:To improve the control accuracy by separating the influence effect to temperature at the time of the rolling of a material to be rolled into a thermal crown, a tension distribution, and a material coefficient, and quantizing the quantities of width variation of the material to be rolled by necessary factors and performing tension control. CONSTITUTION:A thermometer 4 is provided on the entrance side of an (i-1) stand 2 and a looper 3 and a load cell 7 are arranged on the entrance side of an (i) stand 1. Temperature data Ti-1 and Ti at the time of rolling on the stands 2 and 1 are computed by a computing element 10 from the temperature Tmes of the material 30 to be rolled found by the thermometer 4. A roll crown computing element 9 for temperature, a tension distribution pattern computing element 14, and an (n)-value computing element 11 are provided to separate the thermal crown, tension distribution, and material coefficient and compute the quantity of width variation of the material 30 to be rolled, and the tension control for varying the tension distribution is carried out to control the plate width. Arithmetic operation is performed by the separated factors, so the plate width control accuracy is improved and the manufacture cost is reduced.</p> |
