<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a composition, having excellent secondary molding processability and suitable for producing airtight bag bodies, e.g. life jackets, etc., by blending a thermoplastic rubber with a flat particulate substance having a specific average particle size and aspect ratio. CONSTITUTION:A composition obtained by blending (A) 100pts.wt. thermoplastic rubber, preferably polyurethane elastomer or a blend thereof with (B) 2-40pts. wt. flat particulate substance having <=500mum average particle size and >=10 aspect ratio, e.g. mica, talc, clay, etc., and, if necessary, treated with a resin or silane at a temperature above the softening point of the component (A). The resultant film obtained from the above-mentioned composition is applied to one or both sides of a fibrous material, e.g. woven, knitted or nonwoven fabric, etc., to produce a rubber coated fabric. Thereby inflatable life preservers with low deterioration of buoyancy containing cells constituted of the above- mentioned film or rubber coated fabric are produced.</p> |
