PURPOSE:To reduce the check time by using a check tape with plural frequency sound recorded in time series thereupon so as to automatize the measurement at each frequency. CONSTITUTION:Sinusoidal waves having different frequencies f1-fn are sound recorded on the check tape 1 in time series and each recording time tau may be small and the sound recording blocks are set so as to be repeated at a period T. The measurement by an measuring instrument 3 is started by loading a tape 1 onto a deck 2 and reproducing the recording and the frequency characteristic is displayed or stored. In case of the display, the level at each frequency is displayed at an interval of the small time tau and the display is repeated at each period T, then all the displays are observed as if they were being displayed at the same time because of the after-image of eyes even with ten or several check objects, in recording them by using a memory on the other hand, the result of measurements by one period T is stored and then printed out. Thus, the frequency characteristic of the tape deck 2 is checked in a short time and with high accuracy.
