PURPOSE:To enble to perform a high-speed color recording with a simple construction, by a method wherein printing edges and an ink ribbon are moved as one body in a direction orthogonal to a knife edge, and a recording color is changed by using an arbitrary color region of the ink ribbon as an impact point. CONSTITUTION:An impacting operation is conducted by scanning the printing edges PE1-PE6 in the direction of an arrow (a) and respective solenoids DR1- DR6 are sequentially driven when each of the printing edges PE1-PE6 comes to a desired position on a recording paper CHA. When the printing edges PE1- PE6 are scanned by a distance equal to the interval thereof, scanning for one line for the first recording color is completed. The ink ribbon RIB is dyed, e.g., in 3 colors (C1-C3) in the longitudinal direction thereof. The recording head PRH can be moved by a fixed distance in the direction of an arrow (b), whereby the impact point can be changed from CP1-CP6 to CP11-CP12-CP62. |
