PURPOSE:To move a carrier, to project and display an image on the carrier by a projecting means, and to display image information on an opaque member by forming the image of an original to which a photosensitive body is exposed through the image carrier on the carrier by an image forming means. CONSTITUTION:Part of the photosensitive body 1 of an image display means is covered with an endless belt type transparent insulating film 3 which is the image carrier and while the photosensitive body 1 moves, the film 3 is moved in contact in the same direction. This film is charged electrostatically and uniformly by an electrostatic charger 4 and image exposure is carried out by an electrostatic discharger 8. Then an electrostatic latent image is formed by an entire-surface exposure lamp 9 and then visualized by being supplied with visualizing particles by a developing device 10. The film 3 which carries the visualized image is moved and stopped between a lighting lamp 14 and a window 16 used for projection. Then, image information on the opaque member is projected on a mirror 17 by a projection lens 22 and displayed.
