PURPOSE:To enable the displaying of data easy to use, by calculating and displaying an estimated value based on measured values thus far available even when a normal measured value is not obtained. CONSTITUTION:A transmitting wave formed at a front end section 1 is outputted to a transmitter/receiver 2. A receive wave from the transmitter/receiver 2 is inputted into the front end section 1 and a required ultrasonic wave reflection time is detected to be outputted as measuring data. A speed or the like of a ship is calculated with a measuring data processing section 3 from the measuring data to be displayed 8. An abnormal value detection means 5 checks for the presence of abnormality of data measured based on the received wave by comparing the data with an allowable range set by an allowable range alteration means 4 and when an abnormal value is detected, it outputs an abnormal value status. A wave reception failure detection means 6 judges failure in reception waves when no receiving wave is not inputted and outputs a wave reception failure status. An estimated value generation means 7 calculates an estimated value based on existing data when a failure in the reception of waves or an abnormal value are detected. The estimated value is displayed 8 through the processing section 3.
