Combustion engine without connecting rods or crankshaft whose cylinders are arranged in a star configuration, the axes of these cylinders being located in a plane perpendicular to the drive shaft 1, the transmission of the reciprocating movement of the pistons 32 taking place via rollers 13 secured to these pistons and rolling over a cam 2 secured to the drive shaft 1, characterised in that two secondary cams 41, 42 are added on each side of the main cam 2, two secondary rollers 43, 44, also located on each side of the main roller 13, coming to bear on the said secondary cams 41, 42 and the three cams 41, 42, 2 being positioned so that the tips of the lobes which they comprise are in the plane of the axis of the drive shaft 1 at top dead centre. <IMAGE>
