PURPOSE:To control a ventilating device with the optimum ventilating mode throughout a year, by a method wherein operation on either a cooling mode or a heating mode is determined by utilizing an indoor temperature, an outdoor temperature, an indoor cooling and heating modes switching temperature, a cooling and heating modes switching temperature upon cooling and a cooling and heating modes switching temperature upon heating. CONSTITUTION:A ventilating device is controlled when an outdoor temperature is 28 deg.C and an indoor temperature is 22 deg.C upon cooling in summer so that cooling mode is employed when the outdoor temperature is higher than a cooling and heating modes switching temperature under a normal cooling operation or 28 deg.C even when the indoor temperature is lower than an indoor cooling and heating modes switching temperature or 24 deg.C while heating mode is employed when the outdoor temperature is lower than 28 deg.C. Further, when the atmosphere temperature is lower than a cooling and heating modes switching temperature (20 deg.C) upon heating in winter, the ventilating device is controlled so as to be heating mode even when the indoor temperature becomes higher than the indoor cooling and heating modes switching temperature (24 deg.C). When the indoor temperature has risen and a cooling machine is operated whereby the indoor temperature has become higher than the cooling and heating modes switching temperature (28 deg.C) upon cooling, the mode is switched from heating mode, in which heat exchange is effected, into cooling mode and atmosphere is supplied directly to reduce the load of the cooling machine.
