<p>PURPOSE:To recover inexpensively the titled expensive compound useful as a silylating agent for protecting group of drug synthesis, etc., and to reuse the compound as the silylating agent, etc., by reacting tert- butyldimethylchlorosilanol with thionyl chloride. CONSTITUTION:tert-Butyldimethylsilanol such as silylation waste liquor, etc., is blended with a solvent such as chloroform, etc., in a reactor and thionyl chloride is dropped at room temperature while stirring to carry out the reaction. Since a gas is evolved with advance of the reaction, it is trapped in an alkali water trap under cooling. After the gas evolution is finished, the reaction system is refluxed under heating, the solvent is distilled away and the residual component is distilled to recover in high yield the aimed compound.</p> |
