<p>A device (10) of cone-like structure for the introduction of irrigating liquid into the intestine (50) through a stoma or any applicable opening in the body (12) of a patient wherein intestinal irrigation to stimulate fecal evacuation is required. The subject device (10) is further structured to include a primary passage (20) as well as a plurality of secondary angular channels (24, 26, 28) to insure that fluid communication is established between the interior of the intestine (50) and a fluid channelling conduit which in turn may be connected to a supply of irrigating liquid (32) and a monitoring device (30) for the determination of sufficient peristaltic action in the intestine (50) indicating the introduction of a sufficient amount of irrigating liquid to establish fecal discharge.</p> |
