PURPOSE:To easily produce a dry-type transfer sheet with favorable quality, by printing a selected transfer image through thermal transfer from an ink ribbon onto a predetermined base sheet by a printer having a thermal head comprising a plurality of heat generating elements disposed in a row, under specified conditions. CONSTITUTION:On a surface of a thermal head 13 facing an ink ribbon 12, a heat generating part 14 comprising a plurality of heat generating elements 14a, 14b, 14c... arranged in a row is disposed on the trailing end side with respect to the moving direction of the head 13. The distance l from a central position (the center of the row) of the heat generating part to the trailing end part of the head is 50-500mum. A selected transfer image is printed through transfer from the ink ribbon onto a predetermined base sheet by a printer, under the conditions of formulas I and II, wherein x is the pressing pressure (g) of the head, y is the take-up torque (gf.cm) for the ink ribbon and alpha is the fitting angle ( deg.) of the head relative to the base sheet. With the heat generating part 14 disposed at an end part of the head 13, the ink ribbon 12 can be released from the sheet 11, with the ink maintained in the molten state, so that the transfer image can be easily formed on the sheet 11. |
