PURPOSE:To simply and quickly repair a steel tapping hole in a converter at low cost by tilting the converter after inserting a pipe for repairing the converter steel tapping hole into the steel tapping hole in the converter and solidifying after flowing the remaining slag into the gap part between the above pipe and existing refractory. CONSTITUTION:Monolithic refractory 1 is lined between the converter iron shell 6 and permanent lining 2 and a steel tapping hole founder refractory 4 and converter wear brick 5 are laid, to compose the converter lining for steel tapping hole. According to the increase in the number of times the converter is used, the above founder refractory 4, etc., is worn along the erosion line 7. Under such condition, the pipe 16 for repairing the converter steel tapping hole is inserted into the steel tapping hole in the converter through attachment 17 with the blowing slag 15 left remaining. Next, the converter is tilted with the pipe 16 inserted in the steel tapping hole, to flow the remained slag 15 toward the steel tapping hole. In this way, the remaining slag 15 is filled up between the pipe 16 and the existing refractory, to cool and solidify.
