<p>The helmet described comprises a vizor (2) covering the viewing opening, said vizor being mounted pivotally and laterally on the shell of the helmet and, at least in its closed position, is engagable by means of an engagement device comprising an engagement pin and an engagement element (18) provided with at least one engagement recess (22), and a flexible element (23, 24) clamping together the pin and engagement element in the direction of the vizor rotation point. The engagement element (18) or engagement pin (31) is mounted pivotally with the vizor. The engagement recess (22) of the engagement element (18) associated with the closed position is offset in such a way that the engagement pin (31) exerts a preloading in the closing direction on the sidewall of said recess (22) and thus on the vizor (2). This provides more secure locking of the vizor (2) in the closed position, which resists even large wind pressures (higher speed), even when the wearer turns his head.</p> |
