PURPOSE:To obtain a cosmetic, containing cyclic (1 2)-beta-D-glucan and capable of imparting smoothness and moistness to the skin, gloss as well as hair finishing effects to be hair and controlling dermal as well as mucosal irritancy caused by a perfume. CONSTITUTION:A cosmetic containing 0.01-25wt.% cyclic (1 2)-beta-D-glucan. The above-mentioned glucan is produced by many strains of the genuses Agrobacterium and Rhizobium, has 17-40 polymerization degree and may be used in the form of a blend of cyclic glucans having various polymerization degrees or isolated into individual glucans having respective polymerization degrees for use. Any one of the solution, solubilized, emulsion, powder dispersion, water-oil two layer, water-oil-powder three layer systems may be used as the dosage form for makeup cosmetics, body cosmetics, soap, etc., in addition to facial cosmetics and hair cosmetics. |
