PURPOSE:To obtain a brick weight with which large sp. gr. is obtd. at a low cost by binding a particulate material contg. an iron component by a binder and molding said material. CONSTITUTION:The particulate material which is a by-product generated during the treatment of raw materials for production stage in iron works, etc., is pelletized to about 4.25-6.45 true sp. gr. The binder such as epoxy or water glass is compounded with the pelletized materials at an adequate ratio by taking molding quality and molding operation conditions into consideration. While these materials are kneaded, the materials are conveyed to a molding tool disposed to a press. The kneaded materials are heated to about 80-300 deg.C and subjected to evacuation after completion of kneading. The evacuated materials are then press molded under about 1,200-2,800kg/cm<2> compressive molding force. The brick weight having about 4.05-6.25 true sp. gr., good molding appearance, corrosion resistance, acid resistance and paintability and relatively high compressive strength is thereby obtd.
