PURPOSE:To obtain an incombustible insecticidal material, containing a boron compound alone or together with a binder on surfaces of organic fibers or in interstitial parts between the fibers, nontoxic to humans as well as animals, capable of sustaining drug effects for a long period and having high effects. CONSTITUTION:An insecticidal material obtained by presence of a boron com pound, preferably orthoboric acid in an amount of 10-50wt.%, preferably 10-20wt.% based on the total weight alone or together with a binder on surfaces of organic fibers, e.g. polyester fibers, nylon fibers or acrylic fibers, in the for of woven or nonwoven fabrics or in interstitial parts between the fibers. This insecticidal material is capable of effectively exterminating cockroaches or mites and applicable also to carpets or matting materials. The boron compound is preferably present in the form of solid and the insecticidal material is produced by a method for sprinkling the boron compound on the surface of a fibrous mat and, if necessary, applying vibration to fill in the interstices between fibers, etc.
