PURPOSE:To obtain a recording medium showing high sensitivity and high reflectivity when used with semiconductor laser, by vapor-depositing an indium phthalocyanine compound on a substrate, and treating the vapor-deposited film by direct coating with a shifting solvent or impregnation with the shifting solvent. CONSTITUTION:When an indium phthalocyanine compound is excessively high in affinity for a solvent, it may be dissolved with the result of removal of a vapor-deposited film of the compound from a substrate or the loss of uniformity. To avoid the problem, indium is required as the center metal, and a compound of formula [I] is particularly preferable. In the formula, X is a halogen or hydroxyl, R is hydrogen, a halogen, 1-5C alkyl, 1-5C hydroxyalkyl or an alkyl having a 1-3C oxymethylene chain. The shifting solvent may be any one which induces a longer wavelength shift, and is preferably at least one selected from halo-hydrocarbons such as dichloromethane. |
