In a data processing system, two instruction sequences are executed in an order selected in advance. The execution comprises selecting read/write addresses with read/write instructions, in which way a separate memory associated with the individual sequences is activated for data information reading/writing. The separate memories are updated among themselves with regard to the order and the write instructions. During execution of the second sequence in the order, use is made of data information which is not guaranteed in advance to be independent of the data information produced during execution of the first sequence in the order. Increased data handling capacity is achieved in the following manner: both sequences are executed in parallel to start with. An address included in a read instruction associated with the second sequence is intermediately stored if this address has not previously been selected in conjunction with a write instruction associated with the second sequence. The intermediately stored read address is compared with write addresses in the first sequence, and execution of the second sequence is restarted in response to an identity of the addresses. <IMAGE>
