PURPOSE:To prevent waste and jamming of base paper, by a method wherein an information part provided on the base paper is detected by a detecting member for the identification of the compatibility of the base paper with a process machine and, in this manner, a process action is not allowed if the base paper incompatible with the process machine is set. CONSTITUTION:A base paper 10 is provided with a trimming portion 12 on the sidewise edge portion thereof. On the upper edge portion of the trimming portion 12, a cutout 14 used for the identification of the specification of the base paper is formed as an information part, and a hole 16 is perforated downwards of the cutout 14. Either of the cutout 14 and the hole 16 can function as the information part. The change of the cutout 14 and the hole 16 in position, number, or size enables the setting of various information. Upwards of the cutout 14 of the base paper 10 set in a process machine, a microswitch 20 equipped with an operating rod 22 having a projection 24 at the tip end thereof is provided as an example of a detecting member. In this manner, the moment of setting an incompatible base paper without the cutout 14 or with the cutout 14 differing in position is detected and, thereafter, respective signals are sent to a controller. |
