A shell for a mortar weapon, which shell consists of two parts connected to one another by means of pins which tear by shearing off, located behind the closing band, having a time fuze in the head of the shell and having in its interior two containers, which are clamped to one another, and a load-bearing member for the warhead charge, which is removed in the air when the two containers separate as a result of the action of an explosive body in the interior of the front container.
